"A New Place To Explore"
I have recently moved from Cyprus in order to come and study in London and therefore, i chose to draw a map of the area I'm currently living at. This is a new place that I can explore through my art and I tried to express this idea through the use of vibrant colors and different abstract shapes. The circular shapes represent the idea of reaching out for new opportunities and expanding my knowledge in art. The idea behind the drawing is good however, I don't really enjoy the end result. I believe that if I had arranged the different shapes in better positions it would look more vibrant and be more effective.

I like the illustrative style you have chosen to create this map because it means that the work has a personal feel. Furthermore it is very interesting to see how you have captured this is your work because you have come from another country and will have a different view on the city as someone who grew up here. The bright colours and shapes gives the city a new form and I like how you have made the Thames the heart of the picture because it is so iconic and means we can easily tell that it is London you are depicting (even without the text.) The mixture of shapes (block colours,) text and circular pattern adds layers which enhance the excitement of London and your memories of it so far. It captures your feelings very well. Overall I like the composition of the shapes and text however to develop this piece you could expand further and try different views of London and in cooperate you home to show different memories.
